Successful Participation at logitrans Istanbul

This year, the Logistics Alliance Germany (LAG) once again led a delegation of German logistics companies on a trip to Turkey, with an itinerary that included attendance at logitrans and a business breakfast with Turkish representatives. The marketing activities of the LAG were well represented at the joint German stand at logitrans exhibition in Istanbul, which took place from November 13-15. The stand provided numerous discussion opportunities to promote Germany as a logistics location.

As the central contact point for German logistics providers, the LAG offers a free matchmaking service to connect interested parties from abroad with partners from within Germany’s logistics industry. As always, this service was very well received by the visitors at logitrans, who consisted primarily of Turkish logistics experts and representatives from Eastern European countries.

The day before the opening of the exhibition, the LAG delegation met with high-ranking representatives of Borusan Lojistik, a major logistics provider in Turkey. Discussed were the possibilities for Borusan Lojistik to do business with German logistics companies, as well as the role the LAG would play in providing the contacts and connections. Also in attendance were representatives from Germany’s Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure.

The next morning, just before the opening of the fair, was the LAG Business Breakfast. This event format, held every year since 2015, gives business representatives from Turkey the opportunity to connect with members of the Association for the Development of Logistics Alliance Germany (Förderverein LAG e.V.), exchange ideas, and remain in contact.

The opening ceremony of logitrans included an appearance from Peter Lüttjohann, Head of Freight Transport and Logistics at the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure. Lüttjohann also opened the LAG forum, which presented a number of expert “Made in Germany” logistics solutions, including those of the Universal Transport and Am Zehnhoff-Söns GmbH companies.

The geographically advantageous position of Turkey as a logistics location and a bridge between Europe and Asia attracts logistics players from all around the world. In addition to the national pavilions from Germany, France and Austria, the logitrans was also attended by high-ranking representatives from China and Iran.
