On October 11, a Logistics Alliance Germany forum held at CILF in Shenzhen was attended by around 80 guests, the majority of them Chinese. The event, part of the official program of the annual logistics and transport fair, was titled ?Cooperation, Innovation, Digitization ? New Logistics Solutions.? The forum?s objective was to present diverse and innovative logistics solutions from Germany, such as the ?smart? technologies employed at the port of Hamburg and the solutions and technologies used by Hermes for last-mile and urban logistics. A representative from the Interrail Europe GmbH company explained how the rail network along the New Silk Road could be optimized to the benefit of countries and regions along the route. Finally, the Chinese company China Brillant introduced the solutions it offers under the name ?MRO Logistics Platform.? China Brillant is active in the supply chain sector with a focus on industrial products.

Following the forum in Shenzhen, the Logistics Alliance Germany delegation traveled to Chongqing to host a second event, jointly organized with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Chongqing committee. The ?New Silk Road ? Sino-German Logistics Cooperation Seminar? was attended by more than 200 participants from across the region and other provinces, representing all logistics sectors. The seminar facilitated a deep and productive discussion on potential areas for partnerships, in particular in the areas of automotive and rail freight (foodstuffs, agricultural products). The Chongqing city government and its trading platforms look forward to forging strong partnerships with the German transport and logistics industry.

Chongqing is a strategic hub in the development of western China, lying at the junction of the Belt and Road Initiative economic regions and the Yangtze River Economic Belt. As a result, the city plays a unique and crucial role in the development of all of western China.

Not only does Chongqing have a solid industrial base, it also possesses numerous advantages in terms of location, infrastructure, and demographics, and could offer great potential to German logistics companies as a niche market.
