At the beginning of November, the Logistics Alliance Germany (LAG) led a delegation trip to Poland, taking part in the 7th annual TransLogistica Transport and Logistics Exhibition in Warsaw from November 6-8, followed by additional stops in Gdansk and Gdynia. The delegation, which included companies and associations from across the German logistics sector, was led by Steffen Bilger (MdB), Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure and Federal Government Coordinator for Freight Transport and Logistics.
The first leg of the journey led to Poland’s capital city, Warsaw, where the group had an informative meeting with PKP Cargo S.A., the largest rail freight operator in Poland, and held a networking event in partnership with the German-Polish Chamber of Commerce. Delegation members had the opportunity to speak with representatives from Polish businesses and logistics providers, gaining numerous insights into Poland’s economic situation.
On November 5th, the TransLogistica International Transport and Logistics Exhibition opened its doors in Warsaw. Parliamentary State Secretary Steffen Bilger took part in the opening ceremony and gave a welcoming address. In addition to hosting its own stand, the LAG also held a tour of the exhibition and hosted a forum on the topic “Logistics Innovative Solutions.” These endeavors were supported by members of the Association for the Development of Logistics Alliance Germany (Förderverein LAG e.V.), who could also use the stand to hold discussions with clients. Over the three days of TransLogistica the LAG stand welcomed interest from representatives of a wide range of companies, primarily from Poland, as well as from 15 other countries. The LAG acquired qualified new contacts for its matchmaking service and successfully promoted the benefits of membership in the LAG as well as its marketing activities. TransLogistica Poland takes place on an annual basis in Warsaw and is one of the most important events of the country’s logistics sector.
After Warsaw, the delegation traveled next to Gdansk. After touring the deep-water container terminal of the Port of Gdansk, the delegation visited the distribution center of the Polish family-run textile manufacturer and exporter LPP, which also owns the Reserved and Mohito brands. The largest clothing manufacturer in Central and Eastern Europe, LPP is headquartered in Gdansk and has more than 66,000 square meters of smart, nearly fully automated warehouse space.
To close the trip, the German-Polish Logistics Forum was held in partnership with Hafen Hamburg Marketing e.V. and Eurologistics. Also on the final day, the delegation met for a discussion with the Polish International Freight Forwarders Association (PIFFA) in Gdynia.
