Logistics Alliance Germany Goes Digital

Neue Plattform für die internationale Vermarktung von ‚Logistiklösungen made in Germany‘ geht online

The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) and the Logistics Alliance Germany (LAG) are jointly invested in strengthening and marketing the competitiveness of Germany and German logistics businesses on an international level. The new online platform named “Logistics Solutions Made in Germany” was created as part of this initiative.

During, a joint press briefing at transport logistic in Munich held by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) and the Association for the Development of Logistics Alliance Germany (Förderverein LAG e.V.) the new online platform was launched. The Federal Ministry was represented by Member of the Bundestag Steffen Bilger, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure and Federal Government Coordinator for Freight Transport and Logistics. Representing the Förderverein LAG e.V. was Chairman Marc Oedekoven.

“‘Logistics solutions made in Germany’ are key to the successful recognition of Germany as a place for doing business both domestically and abroad,” says Steffen Bilger, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure and Federal Government Coordinator for Freight Transport and Logistics. “Our ability to maintain and further expand this recognition will largely depend on our ability to innovate and carry through the necessary digitalization. The new online platform of the LAG represents an advancement along this path and demonstrates the capabilities of Germany as a logistics site. The platform expresses the breadth and exemplary performance of Germany’s logistics sector. This increases the attractiveness of Germany as a place for doing business and, like the initiative as a whole, plays an important role in safeguarding jobs and creating new ones.”

“With this new online platform, our competitive services are visible and accessible to potential partners and customers around the clock and around the globe,” says Marc Oedekoven, chairman of the Förderverein LAG e.V. association. The new platform is high-performing and efficient, just as Germany’s logistics sector is, and geared to the needs of our target demographic. To achieve this, we essentially reassessed the logistics industry as a whole in order to offer targeted solutions that are aligned to value chains and take advantage of Germany as a gateway and hub to Europe.

Users of the new platform can make targeted search queries to find logistics solutions and qualified partners within Germany. The solutions offered cover not only the core areas of transport, contract, project and system logistics, but also additional services and products necessary for the successful implementation of transport and logistics operations. These range from vehicles, equipment, IT and insurance solutions to the training of specialized workers.

Within the internal area of the platform, association members also have the opportunity to exchange relevant market information and initiate partnerships, such as bidding on international tenders.

The platform is a product of the Logistics Alliance Germany. Any German business interested in having their services included on the platform can do so by joining the network as a member of the Förderverein LAG e.V. association.
