What do the European Football Championship, the Olympic Games, the World Expo in Dubai and the annual network meeting of the Logistics Alliance Germany (LAG) on its tenth anniversary have in common?

All major events were planned for 2020 and, due to the pandemic, could not be held as an attendance event until a year later. "But as every Cologne resident knows," the newly re-elected Chairman of the Board Marc Oedekoven welcomed the 100 or so guests on the eve of the 2021 / 22 carnival season at Berlin's KaDeWe department store, "the "11" is the much more important number!"

In a good mood, Steffen Bilger MdB, acting Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure and coordinator of the Federal Government for Freight Transport and Logistics, also presented his review of the varied activities of the initiative, which he accompanied politically during the last legislative period, both on delegation trips and at events and trade fairs. "I'd like to do that even longer," he joked, referring to the coalition negotiations currently underway to form a new federal government. The long-standing members of the sponsoring association, such as DHL or Deutsche Bahn, received an award from the hands of the State Secretary, as did the new member Hafen Rostock.

To the surprise of the event participants, board member Holger Dechant presented a real star guest at a late hour: Amazon founder Jeff Bezos appeared in style with bodyguards for an exclusive interview. At the latest when he continued the conversation in German, however, the guest of honor turned out to be a double - albeit one with a connection to the industry: The German double's main job is driving trucks for a well-known freight forwarder.
