Coming Soon: A Logistics Alliance Germany Delegation Trip to the Baltic Region (Latvia and Estonia), August 19-23, 2019

The aim of this trip is to initiate new business contacts and discuss partnership opportunities with various companies and institutions. The focus is on rail transport, the maritime industry, export-oriented companies and innovative approaches to digitalization.

The first leg of the itinerary, in the Latvian capital of Riga, will be led by Member of the Bundestag Steffen Bilger, parliamentary secretary for the Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure and government coordinator for freight transport and logistics.

Estonia and Latvia lie at the heart of Europe’s fastest-growing region: the Baltics. The economies of all three Baltic countries are experiencing significant growth, despite their differing economic structures. The transport and logistics sector of the region benefits from its strategic geographic location, with direct access to the Russian and Western European markets.

The delegation trip is aimed at German companies from the logistics industry, who will be given the opportunity to take part in specialist forums, company visits, B2B discussions and roundtable talks with potential partners.
The anticipated itinerary:

  • August 19-20, in Riga: Meetings with representatives from the rail transport and port sectors, freight forwarders and shippers (companies, associations, chambers of industry and commerce and their member companies).
  • August 21-23, in Tallinn: Talks with companies, associations and chambers focusing on rail transport, port management, freight forwarders, shippers and digitalization.
